Welcome back to the 1970s, where the men are men, and economists are just figuring out what happened to the global economy in the ‘60s. UNCTAD is dedicated to putting the United Nations perspective on the world’s global economic trade. We live in a society where you mostly cannot live without talking about the economy at least once in a conversation and back then it was all the same. This committee will cover the topics of the crises caused by OPEC embargos in 1973 and the economic persuasion implemented by the United States after the 1974 Cyprus invasion and the creation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
