Agenda Item: Preparing a legislation in order to prevent smuggling of lethal autonomous weapons and specifying the limits in usage of autonomous weapons in MENA ( Middle East And North Africa ) region.

The Legal Committee (LEGAL) is the Sixth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, and it is responsible for handling the legal matters regarding the United Nations as well as matters regarding general international law as a whole. To this extent, the Legal Committee has largely tasked itself with the promotion of international cooperation towards progressive policy and legislation, its oversight of new treaties being formed across a broad array of topics, and its influence on other states as it continues to advise more of them to take part in this global cooperation.

As advancements in autonomous weapon systems continue to evolve, so does the urgency to establish comprehensive legal frameworks. This agenda invites delegates to consider the legal, ethical, and humanitarian implications of such technologies, particularly in a region affected by ongoing conflicts and security challenges. Delegates will be tasked with drafting legislation aimed at regulating the illicit trade of these weapons and defining clear guidelines for their operational use while upholding international law and promoting regional stability.
